2018 Election/Ballot Results

The Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC) and the AFA Board of Directors are pleased to present the 2018 leadership election results:

 

Board of Directors

Justin Angotti, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity

Wendi Kinney, SUNY Geneseo

 

Nominations & Elections Committee (NEC)

Region I Representatives*

Elected: J. Corey Gant, Lehigh University

Alternate: Kahlin McKeown, University of Maryland

*both write-in candidates that have accepted the position

 

Region II Representatives

There were no candidates slated for Region II, and the election resulted in a four-way tie via write-in votes. All four candidates have accepted their nomination. Both an elected and appointed representative will be determined via paper ballot vote during the regional meeting held during the AFA Annual Meeting in late November. The Board of Directors will certify that vote and announce the results during the subsequent business meeting. The candidates are:

  • Stephen Dominy, Austin Peay State University
  • Byron Hughes, Virginia Tech University
  • Trish Robinson, Clemson University
  • Viannca Williams, University of South Florida


Region III Representatives

Elected: Kate Butler, The Ohio State University

Alternate: Jodi Jabs, Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority

 

Region IV Representatives**

Elected: Helen Lahrman, North-American Interfraternity Conference

Alternate: no eligible write-in candidate

**the AFA Board of Directors will need to appoint an alternate representative to this region

 

Region V Representatives*

Elected: Megan Harre, Washington State University

Alternate: Andrew Jordan Fischette, Alpha Tau Omega

*both write-in candidates that have accepted the position

 

Voter Turnout

  • Members eligible to vote: 1000
  • Members who voted in the election: 530
  • Membership turnout: 53%


Volunteer Appointments

In addition to those elected positions outlined above, the Board of Directors appoints one member to the Board for a two-year term, as well as one member from each region to serve on the Nominations & Elections Committee, annually. A complete list of volunteer appointments will be released later this fall.
