When stepping into the role of a board member, there may be many questions regarding the operations and your role on the board running through your mind. Am I prepared to take on this role?  What actually is fiduciary responsibility?  Will we be a visioning board or a working board? This webinar will provide a high-level overview to help you answer these questions and gain an understanding of the operations and functions of volunteer boards.  Facilitators will review:

  • Fundamentals of board service
  • The core legal duties of Care, Loyalty, and Obedience
  • Effective relationship between board, staff, and volunteers
  • Thinking and acting strategically vs. tactically as a board

This program will provide a primer to better understand each of these areas and resources to begin implementing the lessons learned.

By attending this program, participants will be better prepared to step into active board service and identify their role on the team.
