FORT COLLINS, COLO. (May 5, 2017) - After an exhaustive, national search, the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors and AFA Foundation announce the hiring of Lynda Wiley, EdD, as the association's new executive director.

Dr. Wiley is an accomplished and committed higher education professional with 20 years of senior student affairs leadership experience and extensive service to the fraternity and sorority community. She began her career as the Panhellenic and NPHC advisor at Ball State University in 1997 and progressively advanced to become the Director of Student Organizations, Assistant Dean, and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, where she had oversight over Student Life, the Multicultural Center, Disability Services, and the Student Center. She has been in her current role as the Assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs for ERP at Ball State University since 2013.

"I am excited and honored to have been selected as the new Executive Director to lead AFA and the AFA Foundation," said Wiley.  My membership and involvement in AFA have been critical to my success in higher education and I am eager to work with the staff and volunteers to provide the highest quality experience for our members.  I look forward to working with our fraternal partners to ensure the success of fraternity and sorority communities across the country."

Over the course of her career, Dr. Wiley has been an active member of AFA, serving as the Region III Vice President, Indiana Area Coordinator, Volunteer Recognition Committee Chair, Substance Abuse Committee member, and Legal and Governmental Issues Committee member. In addition, Dr. Wiley served as the President, Secretary and board member of Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and serves on the advisory board for the chapter at Ohio Wesleyan University.
"I am incredibly pleased with our selection of Dr. Lynda Wiley as the next Executive Director of AFA, and I am thankful for the search committee's diligent work. Her long-time work in the field of higher education as well as her experiences with staff leadership are a tremendous asset for our Association," said AFA President Kara Miller. "She will be an engaged partner to our stakeholders, and I know she will help both AFA and the AFA Foundation reach new heights. I am pleased to welcome her on board and thrilled to see her experience, education, and professionalism in action."
