Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS)

Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) is a consortium of 43 professional associations concerned with the development and promulgation of professional standards and guidelines for student learning and personal development support programs and services in institutions of higher learning. AFA demonstrates its commitment to CAS through its appointment of a liaison, Dan Bureau, and an alternate to its board, Monica L. Miranda. AFA has been actively involved in CAS for 37 years and is committed to helping AFA members accomplish their professional goals using the CAS Standards and Guidelines.


The Center For Fraternity and Sorority Research (CFSR)
The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research (CFSR), previously the Center for the Study of the College Fraternity (CSCF), was formed in 1979 to encourage and support assessment and research of the highest quality and educational significance on the role of the American college fraternity in higher education. In 2015, we partnered with the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors to allow all AFA members the benefits of CFSR.

CFSR is uniquely positioned to serve as an advocate for the inspiration, funding, vetting, and recognition of assessment and research related to the fraternity and sorority movement. We support practitioners by helping them build better chapters through assessment and scholars by giving them the tools to advance the fraternity and sorority movement through research.

The Center is based on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington, further strengthening the relationship between the American college fraternity and higher education. Through our work at the Center, we provide research grants, recognition awards, the Fraternity/Sorority Experience Survey (FSES), an historical archive, and an annotate bibliography.


The Placement Exchange (TPE)

AFA is one of six important partners in TPE. TPE strives to be your definitive resource for the student affairs job placement process. With dynamic, online information as well as powerful networking opportunities and a first-class job placement event, TPE is dedicated to helping candidates find that perfect job, and helping institutions find that perfect hire. Founded in 2006, the strength of TPE comes from the combined resources of its partner associations.
